Week 9: food adventure

One day in the cold strong winds of Europe Phileas Fogg went off course due to the winds. He landed in France his balloon badly damaged and his body banged up from the crash. He went to see the farmer of the land where he had crashed. Luckily the famer said, I can fix your balloon in exchange for some help around the land. The next morning he awoke to the sound of a tractor as he made his way down stairs to see the farmer about the help he needed. The farmer sent him to pick up some hay from the local supply store. On his way to the supply store a crowed of rude bikers passed him causing all sorts of mayhem.

Arriving at the store he noticed the bikers had parked at the salon across the street and were causing trouble. As he was paying for the farmers supplies the group of bikers came in the store looking for parts and food, while harassing the employees and customers. That was when the Phileas Fogg decided to stand up the people he told the gang to back of and to quit bugging the poor town’s folk. They the leader of the group said yea what are you going to do about it. That was when Fogg sprang into action and started a fight the brawl lasted several minuet’s. once the dust cleared the only man standing was Fogg himself the townsfolks applauded him for he had ran out the vermin that were praying on the small town. Once he had made it to the farm, he stored the hay the farmer invited him to go inside and enjoy a delicious snack to relax. The farmer gave him a croissant filled with cheese he ate it and said this snack is amazing. the next day as he was getting ready to leave the farmer gave him a parting gift on box of croissants filled with cheese and the family recipe to it.

Week 9: 3 great mission statements

Andrews Mission Statement: "Our company strives to unify the world through showcasing international foods and making them accessible for all to enjoy. All humans must eat and therefore, food is a perfect platform for sharing traditions of other cultures amongst each other. By using the finest product and ingredients, we help our customers travel far distances at their own convenience."

I like Andrews mission statement, because is shows that his mission statement cares about about their customers. As well as showing that he cares about feeding all of humanity.

Rachelle's mission statement was great as well due to the fact that it explained in detail of what her company is about.

mayras mission statement
This being my mission statement, I am targeting customers to a try and buy our new exciting product. “Mission states should be meaningful and specific yet motivating. They should emphasize the company’s strengths in the marketplace.” Armstrong, Gary, Philip Kotler. Marketing: An Introduction, 10th Edition. Page 41. I believe my mission statement is both meaningful and specific that it will push our product in the marketplace.

Implementation, Evaluation, and Control

TBE

Price

I would price this accordingly for the places that would want to buy it for example I would sell it to a bar for $2 a bag. As for the regular market I would sell it for $2 a bag as for the family size I would sell it for $4 a bag. This will help me earn a profit along with being able to meet the needs of the buyer. The buyers can even buy in bundles. For example I would have a shipping deal for bars so if you were to order a crate of 500 bags of chips which will come out to $1000 but I would sell it to them at $800 so they can get 100 bags of chips free.
Example: 500x2= 1000
                   400x2= 800
Saves 200 gets 100 bags of chips free.

Promotion

I would try to use all the styles of promotion from advertising to free publicity.
·         Advertising: I would use the newspaper and magazines to promote my product such as telling the customer to come on down and try the new and exciting flavor of the Phileas new snack.
·         Free samples: I would offer free samples to customers to show them the taste of Phileas new product, so if they enjoy it, I can take that opportunity to show them the product and give them a price.
·         Word of mouth: I would start talking to someone and then hopefully they will tell someone else about the product, so 2 turns into 4, 4 into 8, 8 into 16 and so forth.
·         Coupons: I would offer coupons that would allow the customer to get 10-20% off on the product.
·         Special prices: I would also offer special prices to the people who came to buy the product as long as they have a special promo code.
·         Free publicity: I would post this on face book along with other social media sights to help promote this product.

Distribution

I consider myself an inventor first and an entrepreneur second. In real life, my hero is Thomas Edison. He was a great inventor, but also an outstanding entrepreneur who was able to sell his inventions to the masses. He didn't just develop the light bulb; he invented the entire electric grid and power distribution system.
-Aaron Patzer

The way I’m going to distribute this product is by meeting with potential buyers. Along with also putting out ad campaigns showing that our new product will be out soon. We can also create a commercial that will debut the bag of chips. This will describe the chips in a new fashion so they can fit in with todays crowed. Hopefully we will be able to land some contracts to distribute the items to the designated locations. We will start small such the U.S.A as a testing field since it is known as the melting pot of the world where all kinds of races or religions mix. If the U.S.A is a success we will begin to distribute these items to other countries.

Working with lots of old media clients, I've had a front-row seat on the ascension of new social players and the decline of traditional news outlets. And it's clear to me that old media has an awful lot to learn from social media, in particular in five key areas: relevance, distribution, velocity, monetization, and user experience.

-Ryan Holmes

Product

Our product is a delicious bag of crispy and cheesy croissants. That every bite is an exploration into another world. With every bite your taste buds take a trip around the world, just like Phileas Fogg did when he went around the world in 80 days.

“One single supporter remained faithful to him: an old paralytic, Lord Albermarle. The noble lord, confined to his armchair, would have given his whole fortune to be able to travel around the world, in ten years even; and he bet four thousand pounds on Phileas Fogg.”

Jules Verne, Around the World in 80 Days

“I see that it is by no means useless to travel, if a man wants to see something new.”

Jules Verne, Around the World in 80 Days

These quotes can show you what kind of character the movie was and Phileas Fogg was. It’s true that every man wants to travel the world. To be able to see the different places, and experience new things. Along with being able to see the heritage of the different countries.

Target Market Strategy

The target market in this case is people in bars and pubs were they are able to grab a drink a quick bite to eat. This snack is designed so 1-2 people can enjoy together and have a lovely conversation. The snack is designed to eliminate social awkwardness in a social environment. The basic way to say this is that the snack gives you the courage to walk up to the special someone ad strike up a conversation. Even though most of our generation is socially awkward and afraid we can hope to fill this gap but introducing it in a bar scene.

Situation or SWOT Analysis

SWOT ANALYSIS
v  Strengths: The strengths of our company is that we are able to reach to the public in a different way along with being able to show how much we care about customer service and about charity.

v  Weakness: The Company has no known issues other than getting the word out about our product and our cause. So for now the company will be driving in the dark.

v  Opportunities: Our opportunities is that we will be able to express ourselves since we are in an era where self-expression in any form is mainly accepted. Especially since now there is no gender roles or sex roles everyone treats one another as equal.

v  Threats the main threat our company may have is the economy and rival companies wanting to steal our recipes with spies or other forms (buying us out).

Objectives

The objective of my product is to promote the amazing story and background of Phileas Fogg can be proud of. For every bag of Phileas Fogg a dollar goes to charity. This will help support veterans and create great marketing for the bars that carry our product along with anyone who is seen with our product.

“No one has ever become poor by giving.”

Anne Frank,

The company will send $1 to charity for every bag of chips sold, the charity will go to helping veterans who are disabled. This will show how we love and respect our troops as well as how we all must have the heart to donate and help out those who need it the most.

Business Mission Statement

tbe

My business mission statement is about the company Phileas Fogg.

Our company strives for diversity and opportunity along with supplying great customer service with the people of the world. Our snacks have an adventure in every bite.

Pitch

Our final assignment has to do with a snack that use to be extremely popular back in the 1980s. The snack was known as Phileas Fogg, it was a well-known as an exotic snack. It even came with a letter from Phileas Fogg himself explaining his adventures of whichever country the snack is based from. His story is well know from the movie of around the world in 80 days. He played this movie with a very famous Latino actor known as Cantiflas. This movie till this day draws much attention even to the young Latino crowd

week 6 EOC: Me x 3

The three consumer products that help define me are,
1.       My Sigelei 150W box mod
2.       My iPhone
3.       My Chevrolet Silverado
The Sigelei box mod is a vaping equipment that I use to vape, I also use it for cloud competitions. It defies me because I am a chilled back person who loves to vape and be mysterious and catch the attention of others. Here is a review from Vaping 360 TBEC Review. With sub ohm vaping having been made much more accessible to the masses and some new sub ohm tanks capable of hitting 150W, many people are now looking for a 150W box mod that they can use for their high wattage coils. We very rarely go beyond 100W, but I think it is nice to have the wattage there if you should need it. It has been great for us for testing the new sub ohm tanks that can fire at those high wattage ranges. The two 18650 batteries will also mean that you won’t need to charge your batteries for a long time.
My iPhone defines me because I love to have the latest things out, along with also feeling that I am one of the people in the in’s and that are always up to date with today’s technology and styles. Here’s a review from techradar. I wrote in 2013 that Apple was becoming more aware that the time when it could define what consumers would buy in the smartphone is ending – and with the 4.7-inch screen, it's clearly had to admit defeat in the smaller screen market.
There will be some that will miss that screen size, maintaining that they don’t want a bigger display on their phone – but nearly all of those people won't have spent any appreciable time with a larger device, and I believe that a good portion of you thinking you need a smaller phone will quickly come to appreciate the power a bigger handset brings without hurting quality.

My Chevy Silverado defines me because I love the feel of a truck that is meant for hard work, since I recycle metal and other materials along with help friends and family with projects it gives me sense and a feel of a hard worker.

week 5 midterm: EOC

Before technology, people use to apply for work by hand written or printed out applications. This led to the applicant meeting the managers and making a great first impression. Although times have changed, we now only apply electronically through the Internet or by dropping off a application through the drop box of the company. We also tend to now be selected by computers instead of managers or supervisors this day and age you have to know how to use a computer in order to be able to work or the least apply for open positions. Here are some things from The Wall Street Journal about an article called “Recruiters Troll Facebook for Candidates They Like”,More companies are trying to tap Facebook Inc.'s 750-million-plus user base to find new employees, threatening traditional job boards and competing with LinkedIn Corp., which has dominated the online professional networking arena.” This is just the beginning of the article there are many more and it only gets better. Such parts are these, “When asked for comment, LinkedIn referred to its chief executive's remarks from last week's conference call to discuss earnings. During the call, CEO Jeff Weiner said users tell the company they want to keep their personal and professional networks separate.” This is what the application world is going through just to find new employees. Their are also more for instance the last paragraph states, “Beginning next week, the company also plans to pilot a new Facebook application that will allow them to search for candidates on BranchOut Inc.'s Facebook app which, similar to BeKnown, builds a professional networking layer on top of Facebook and has more than 2.6 million monthly users, according to AppData.com. Candidates have been 50% more likely to apply to positions they found through Facebook than through other means, said Mr. Staney. "[Job boards] just blast it out. This is much more efficient and targeted," he said.

EOC: Great customer experience

Great customer service is what drives certain customers to go back to certain stores.
For example if a human treats a dog well and with respect and love like one should the dog will be undyingly loyal to the human, where as if the human were to treat the dog bad and like a horrible thing then the dog will runaway and be un-loyal and leave the human.

I once had a great customer experience and am loyal to the end, to the store. The story starts like this; I walked inside a sprint store to trade in my phone, since I was eligible for an upgrade as I made my way to the counter a husky gentlemen asked me what I wanted to do today, I in response said I wanted to trade in my iPhone 5 for the new iPhone 6 and he told me that I couldn’t since my account was not eligible. I then said well I received a email from my wireless company that I was and he said that must have been a mix up since the only ones that were eligible were the customers that have been with us for 2 years. I in turn said if you look at my account it will show you I have been with the company for 4 years now and have never missed a payment or ever complained. To which he said that doesn’t matter since you are not eligible. I then said can I please talk to your manager he respectfully got the manager and the manager and me talked about the situation and he said that its ridiculous that I had to put up with this non sense, he then told the employee to go to break early and brought me a different employee she and the manager took care off me by taking my old phone as a trade in for the new one, to which I said how mush will I be paying, he said do not worry sir you have been a loyal customer for 4 years your balance is 0.00, I then said wow thank you that saves me some gas money he then said don’t leave we will be back with your new phone. Upon his return he came to me with my new phone and said here you go and then asked me go to that rack and pick out a phone case anyone that you would like. So I being clumsy I choose the Otter box hard case ($60), he then put a screen cover and my case on my phone and handed me the item’s to which he also said do you see that JBL Pill speaker, I said yes, he then said which color would you like it I said blue and he went to get the speaker, upon his return he game me a big bag with my JBL pill speaker and also a JBL onxy speaker for free I asked why he gave me these free items to which he replied because you have been a loyal customer and we would love to keep you with us and you are one of the few customers’ that always pays on time so to show our gratitude we gave you these gifts. That wasn’t the end of on my next bill I saw that it had went down from $95.85 to $65.20. this was my great customer experience.
